Getaway Weekends for Women

Getaway Weekend for Women in Maine
Welch House Inn, Boothbay Harbor, Maine
Friday–Sunday, October 28–30, 2011
Monday, October 31 · Optional Social Media Workshop

Registration form: PDF | Word doc

Maine, the way life should be …

This Getaway provides the perfect combination of interesting women, opportunities to network, and exploration of new and important concepts regarding change and how we “transition” in life. The group is small with a target of 10 to 12 women, which is optimal for interaction. No doubt you will leave with new friends, new ideas and perspectives, new opportunities, the tools to move forward, and a renewed appreciation for the benefits of getting away. All of this is coupled with fun, fresh food and good wine, and outings to mid-coast Maine attractions and local hang outs.

The Getaway Weekend is customized according to what topics are most requested by the participants. Sessions are structured as presentations or facilitated discussions. There are some readings and assignments to complete before the weekend and an action plan is created to take away with you. Recent topics from which participants may select include:

  • Are you making changes and choices in the role of “work” in your life?
  • Are you in “transition?” Shifting into a new chapter as you change jobs or careers, become an empty nester, move to a new community, care for children and/or parents?
  • Do you desire additional time for yourself and/or seek increased work flexibility?
  • If you had more time, what would you do with it?
  • Do you have a sense of “wellbeing” as you evaluate components of your life including the following elements; professional/career, social/family, financial, physical and community?
  • Would you like to better understand and use online professional and social networking tools?

On Monday, October 31, an optional follow-on Social Media Workshop is offered, discussing the growing popularity of social media to communicate in the business and personal realms of life and to create “community.” Tools covered include LinkedIn, Facebook, Skype and blogging. The workshop will guide participants on ways to leverage social media based on their priorities as identified over the weekend.

The Getaway Weekend is structured to balance substantive workshops and presentations, time to interact and relax, and outings to local destinations.
